Isuzus, a subsidiary of Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, is opening a new US facility in California, the company said.
The move follows the opening of a factory in Huntington, California, last year, and the signing of an agreement to build the new facility in the state.
Isuzus said it is planning to hire around 500 workers to operate the facility, which is expected to open in 2019.
California is expected have over 2,000 truck rigs and 1,000 tractor trailers per year.
Isuzu is expected be the world’s biggest truck maker, with annual sales of $1.5 trillion.
