Tesla is working on a fleet of pickup trucks that will have seat covers that resemble a truck seat.
The company is developing the seats with the help of a former NASA engineer who has developed a technology for creating custom plastic seats.
In a video presentation Tuesday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk showed off the prototypes, which include one with a rollback seat that will roll down when a driver is sitting down.
Musk said the seats would be compatible with all trucks with rollback seats and would be offered in various colors.
Tesla has been experimenting with the idea of putting a roll back seat in the new pickup trucks.
Musk said he wanted to offer a product that would be accessible for a wide variety of buyers.
“We’re building a truck that’s not just a truck, but a passenger truck,” Musk said.
A company spokesman said the company had not yet developed a model that would include rollback seating in the trucks.
